Holy amazingness, the
Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar is equal parts hilaaaarious & awesssssssome. What a scene! In the middle there is a pool (!) with a mini boat (!!) with a live band (!!!). Surrounding the pool are tons of little tiki huts and bamboo tables. It's kitschy & gaudy in the best way possible. It feels like an disneyland ride, only this is real adult life. Oh man. And the drinks, yowza, do they pack a punch! [look at their
cocktail menu here!] The Pineapple Royal = a tropical fantasy of rum, brandy, and pineapple juice served in a fresh pineapple. It's suuuper boozy and totally delicious. It's official that fresh pineapples make the best drinking vessels. P.S. The Tonga Room is located inside the fancy shmancy Fairmont Hotel, go now during the holidays to walk through a human scale sized gingerbread house in their lobby!
