(29) Peaty Old Fashioned @ Nihon Whisky Lounge

Peaty Old Fashioned @ Nihon Whisky Lounge = Islay single malt, brandied cherries, fresh orange, sugar, orange & aromatic bitters. This cocktail was strong, earthy, and musty, almost like mildewy leaves - it was hard to put into words. As it turns out 'peaty' is the word I was looking for. Peat means a brown soil-like material characteristic of boggy, acid ground, consisting of partly decomposed vegetable matter; it is widely cut and dried for the use in gardening and as fuel. Don't think I'd order this style of Old Fashioned again because it's not my style, but I highly recommend going to Nihon for their incredible happy hour & sipping on their other creative cocktails or extensive whiskey selection.
